Your website is having conversations about your business every day, whether you are involved in them or not.
Somebody arrives with a problem, a few questions and probably a bit of scepticism. Within seconds, they are trying to work out whether you understand them, whether the business feels credible and whether getting in touch is worth the effort.
That makes the website much more than a place to put the logo, list the services and add a contact form.
Looking professional is only part of the job
We have seen plenty of polished websites that still make the business difficult to understand.
The design might be strong, but the offer is vague. The copy talks about quality, passion and tailored solutions without saying anything a competitor could not say. The next step is a generic contact button with no explanation of what happens afterwards.
None of this looks obviously broken. That is what makes it easy to ignore.
A good website reduces uncertainty. It helps the right person recognise their problem, understand what you can do and feel comfortable taking the next step.
The website does not stop at the form
We think about the website and the follow-up process as one journey.
The moment somebody submits a form, the page hands that person to the rest of the business. If the confirmation is vague, the response is slow or booking a conversation becomes awkward, the experience falls apart at exactly the point trust should be growing.
That is why conversion is not only a design problem. The message, form, CRM response and booking route all need to work together.
A quick way to see the problem
Show the homepage to somebody who does not know the business. Give them ten seconds, then ask three questions.
Who is this for? What problem does it solve? What should I do next?
If the answers are unclear, the website is making the visitor do too much of the thinking. We would rather make the journey obvious than rely on somebody being interested enough to work it out.
